H. P. Lovecraft was notoriously interested in astronomy. The genre he created was called "Cosmic Horror." Despite all of this, the subject of astronomy is barely explored in his literature. The most space-worthy theme in his horror was probably the story "Beyond the Wall of Sleep," in which it is implied that the dream entities were conscious stars.
Finding astronomy facts which have a Lovecraftian flavor is not as difficult as it might seem. I will post a few in this thread.

Lovecraft's chronicling of the discovery of Pluto is one of the finest and most dramatic records of the planet's origin of any you will read. Highly recommend.
